Join me for this exciting three-session wildlife Workshop.

At Jeffrey Patrick Karnes Photography, I believe that photography is about telling a story. It's about capturing the moment and sharing it with the world. I specialize in bird photography, and my goal is to transport viewers to the world of birds through my images. If you want to learn the skills to do the same, I offer photography classes and tutorials to help you capture your own unique vision.

In The Field

  • Using the right gear.

  • Shutter speed, aperture, and ISO settings and much more.

  • Working with light.

  • Correct composition.

  • When the best time of the day is for capturing the perfect shot.

Post Processing

  • Adjusting White Balance.

  • Sharpening and noise reduction.

  • Fine tunning exposure.

  • Dodging and burning techniques.

  • Cropping images to achieve correct composition.

My photography sessions are entirely hands-on, ensuring a stress-free experience for you. By the end of our time together, you'll feel confident and knowledgeable.

We will photograph in the golden hours of the morning when the birds are most active and to catch the best light—covering everything from shooting in Manual Mode, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, and using Auto ISO, as well as bird behavior, how to approach them, background awareness, composition, and capturing birds-in-flight.

Each class will consist of two hours in the field and one hour of post-processing techniques. 

Post-processing will cover Lightroom and or Photoshop techniques, where you will learn about sharpening and noise reduction. Dodging and burning, composition and white balance so you can take your images to the next level and learn to create unique, beautiful photographs. 


It is essential to be familiar with your camera. Knowing where to find and adjust the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO will make learning much more straightforward. If you need help with this, I am available for a one-on-one before you take the workshop. This way, you will get the most out of the workshop.
